Downsizing for a move or just redecorating? Getting rid of furniture can be challenging, so you should plan ahead. There are many charitable organizations that accept furniture donations in Orange County, but getting furniture picked up is the hard part.
Below is a guide on where to donate furniture in Orange County. If you can’t drop off large items, a few places offer furniture donation pick up in Orange County, but you may need to schedule in advance.
Please note that Daly Movers does not help with furniture donations or furniture pickup. If you are donating items ahead of a move, give us a call to assist with your relocation!
Laura’s House – Orange County Furniture Donation Supports Victims of Domestic Violence
Laura’s House was founded in 1994 to provide domestic violence-related services to men, women, and children in Orange County, including legal advocacy, counseling, and life skills education. It’s the county’s only state-approved comprehensive domestic violence agency.
The organization operates two Resale Store locations in Lake Forest and San Juan Capistrano. Donated items are sold in the stores to raise money for the organization's many programs and services.
Laura’s House only accepts furniture on an as-needed basis, and furniture must be pre-approved because you can drop it off or schedule pickup. The Laura’s House donation center is in Aliso Viejo and is open Monday to Friday, 12 pm to 4 pm. You can see their donation guidelines here.
Laura’s House provides donation pickup in Orange County within 15 miles of Aliso Viejo. Furniture must be pre-approved. They ask you to please consider a cash donation to offset the cost of pickup.
Voice of Refugees – Donate Furniture in Orange County to Support Newly Arrived Refugees & Immigrants
Voice of Refugees was established in 2009 by immigrants and refugees from the Middle East who found new homes in the United States. The organization supports newly arrived refugees and immigrants with ESL classes, case management, driver training, job mentoring, youth empowerment, and furniture donations in Orange County.
To donate furniture and other household goods, submit a donation request online. You can also contact the Furniture Ministry Lead at ericm@vorservices.org or (657) 575-0853.
Voice of Refugees offers free furniture donation pick up in Orange County if you are a reasonable distance from their Anaheim location. They ask that you please make a donation of $20 to $200 to offset the cost of transportation depending on your distance.
You’ll need to text pictures of furniture to make sure it can be accepted. Voice of Refugees accepts items in very good condition, such as items you would give to a family member. Furniture that would not fit in a small apartment is unlikely to be accepted.
The Priority Center – Furniture Donations in Orange County Help End Generational Cycle of Trauma
The Priority Center delivers programs in Orange County to help people in crisis including early intervention, mental health services, and more. They provide basic needs and have services for families with young children.
Their Basic Needs program gives families and individuals in crisis basic household items in great need. The goal of the program is to provide the necessary items the OC Social Services Agency requires to allow children to be placed with relatives.
You can donate furniture in Orange County to support their efforts. The Priority Center accepts new and gently used furniture, including baby furniture. They offer furniture donation pick up services in special circumstances. Donations can be dropped off at The Priority Center’s warehouse in Garden Grove.

Patriots and Paws – Provides Basic Home Furnishings for Veterans & Active Military in Southern California
Patriots and Paws is a nonprofit organization serving Southern California with the goal of providing veterans and active military members with home furnishings for a newly acquired home or apartment. Most of those they serve have experienced homelessness or recently received housing vouchers. Patriots and Paws also match interested military members and veterans with rescued companion animals.
You can support Patriots and Paws by donating furniture and other items. They offer free furniture pick up in Orange County that you can schedule online or by calling (714) 323-7229. Pickups are scheduled 5 days per week with each area of the OC served on a different day. Their pickup schedule is currently 4 to 5 weeks out so plan ahead!
Paws and Patriots ask that you consider a cash donation to offset the cost of pickup service.
You can check the list of items they do and do not accept. Your donation must be ready for pickup on your driveway or in front of the garage on the day of pickup with small items packed.
You can also drop off donations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 2:30 pm at their warehouse location.
Habitat for Humanity serves lower income households in Orange County by building new, affordable homes with donated materials and volunteer labor. Their ReStores are donation centers and home improvement stores selling new and used furniture, appliances, and building materials.
The ReStore – Habitat for Humanity of Orange County accepts donated furniture, decor, appliances, and building materials. Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is a nationwide organization serving veterans through fundraising and membership. VVA offers Vietnam veterans a fellowship community as well as outreach programs and veteran services like VA claims assistance and job placement. Orange County is served by VVA Chapter #1024 in Orange.
VVA accepts furniture donations and other household goods. You can schedule free furniture pick up in Orange County throughClothingDonations.org, a VVA service, or by calling 888-518-VETS. You’ll also see a list of drop-off donation centers nearby. Place your donation outside for pickup on the scheduled day. Drivers are required to leave a receipt for the donated goods.
Note: VVA contracts with thrift stores to sell donated items. They only accept small furniture in usable condition.

The Mercy Warehouse – Orange County Furniture Donation Drop-Off in Laguna Niguel
The Mercy Warehouse is a nonprofit providing food to families in need throughout South Orange County. They raise money by selling donated goods through their thrift store with a 20,000 square foot facility. Every year, the Mercy Warehouse gives away groceries with a retail value of $1 million. They feed more than 1,000 people each week through their Laguna Niguel food bank and weekly homeless outreach efforts in L.A. and Santa Ana.
The Mercy Warehouse accepts all types of furniture donations in Orange County as well as clothing, household goods, books, and seasonal items. They cannot accept broken or very worn furniture, used mattresses, or boxsprings.

Goodwill of Orange County sells donated items to create job training and transitional employment and provide community programs and social services.
Goodwill accepts all types of furniture donations, including bedroom furniture, sofas, chairs, dining tables, and outdoor furniture. They also accept mattresses but only at the Santa Ana Corporate Campus Donation Center.
You can drop off Orange County furniture donations at any of their 25+ locations Monday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm or Sunday 10 am to 7 pm. Make sure you check their donation guidelines first.
If you can’t drop off donations, you can schedule Goodwill pickup in Orange County through ReSupply, a veteran-owned organization. Click “Donation Pickup” on the OC Goodwill website to schedule priority pickup through ReSupply. Pickups can be scheduled as soon as one business day, six days per week. Note: there is a fee for donation pickup service!

Rescue Mission is a faith-based charity that provides assistance to homeless individuals and families in Orange County through on-site housing, food, job training, counseling, education, and healthcare. They are a four-star charity (Charity Navigator) with a large share of donations going directly to their services.
Rescue Mission accepts drop-off donations at its donation warehouse daily from 8 am to 5 pm. If you want to donate furniture, text a photo to (714) 497-3086, call the Warehouse Manager at (714) 247-4333, or email info@rescuemission.org to make sure your items can be accepted.
Note that Rescue Mission does not provide donation pickup in Orange County CA.
Orange County United Way – Donations Support Community Programs Addressing Homelessness, Health & Education
United Way is a nonprofit that improves lives in the OC with long-term solutions to issues involving education, housing, health, and financial stability. The organization funds programs that support these goals and advocates for residents.
One of the largest programs is the WelcomeHomeOC program, which has helped more than 1,000 homeless people in the county find a home since 2019. The program connects families and individuals with housing vouchers with local apartment owners and covers moving costs, basic furnishings, and security deposits.
Some Orange County furniture donations are accepted to support United Way programs and community nonprofits like Families Forward. Mattresses and bed frames, bookshelves, chairs, desks, sofas, dining tables, nightstands, area rugs, and lamps are accepted in good, clean condition.
